- Manage target audience and app content settings: Every new app or update must declare its target age group(s) in Play Console (after declaring ads, app-access instructions and a privacy policy). You should select more than one age group only if the app was designed for and checked against each; if any selected group includes children, the full Families Policy applies, including Families self-certified ads SDKs; if any targeted users are under 21, you must consider whether local law treats them as children. Google reviews the declaration, which can take 7 days or longer. An app not primarily designed for under-13s whose store listing contains child-appealing marketing elements (such as youthful animation or young characters in graphic assets) may be rejected; the remedies are to remove those elements or to retarget to under-13 and comply with the Families Policy. Adult-only apps can enable Restrict Minor Access by selecting 18+ as the sole age group.
