The rule, in our words

• Deceptive Behavior: No deception of any kind. Title, icon, description, screenshots, category and content rating must accurately describe what the app really does; no impossible features even as a joke; no false claims of being "official" or government-affiliated. Do not mimic OS or other-app functionality or warnings. Device-setting changes outside the app need the user's knowledge and consent, must be easily reversible, may not be done for third parties or advertising, and users may not be misled or incentivised into disabling other apps (except verifiable security services). No tools to fake IDs, passports, diplomas, cards or similar. Any extra asset download must be necessary, prompted, and its size disclosed first. Significant functional changes between versions must be flagged to users and reflected in the listing; core behaviour that differs by geography or device must be prominently advertised. No hidden, dormant or undocumented features, no manipulated media presented as real, and no techniques to evade or behave differently during Google's review. "Prank" or "entertainment only" labels give no exemption.
• App Review Guidelines: Only content the developer created or licensed: no third-party trademarks, works or patented ideas without permission; no misleading or copycat names or metadata; the app should be submitted by the rights holder; third-party services may be used only where their terms allow; apps should not download media from services such as YouTube without authorisation; no suggestion that Apple supplies or endorses the app; nothing confusingly similar to an Apple product; no Apple emoji; iTunes previews only with a link back; Activity rings should not mimic the Activity control and Weather data should follow WeatherKit attribution.
• Social Engineering: No app may pretend to be another app to trick users into doing what they meant to do in the trusted one.
• Unauthorized Use or Imitation of System Functionality: Nothing in the app or its ads may mimic or interfere with system notifications or warnings; system notifications may carry only the app's own integral features, never ads for another app or service, and must be clearly attributed to the app.
• Mobile Unwanted Software: Software should deliver what it promises, disclose all its principal functions, explain any system changes and disclose any bundled software, and let users review and approve significant installation options. It should not misrepresent the device's state (fake infection or security warnings); it must not generate invalid ad traffic, impersonate another developer, company or app, or imply an affiliation it lacks. Personal data must be handled transparently, under the User Data policies, and over secure transport such as HTTPS. Apps must not ask or trick users into turning off device protections like Google Play Protect, must not trick users into installing them, should not interfere with other apps or device usability, should make uninstall clear, must not show ads that disrupt device use or appear outside the app without consent and attribution, should not mimic OS or other-app prompts, and must not suppress OS or other-app alerts.
